England takes on the Democratic Republic of Congo at the World Cup on Wednesday, 1 July 2026 in the round of 32.
England Coach Thomas Tuchel said, “I feel it is a privilege to be in these situations. I think we can just accept it; we are the favourites (against DR Congo).”
The DRC qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking their first appearance at the tournament since 1974.
In a statement, DRC coach Sebastien Desabre said, “Our World Cup is already a success relative to our goals.”
“The pressure is on the England team.”
